My new jeans are turning everything blue!

I bought some new jeans - I've washed them three times using different detergents and also done extra rinses and spins, but they're still turning everything blue! My hands, the couch, my shoes and socks - it's even on the baby after he's been sitting on my lap!

Is there any way to set the dye or make them fade faster?

I'd take them back tbh, that degree of dye loss is unacceptable and suggests a fault in the manufacture IMHO.

I can't take them back - I bought them while pregnant for me to wear after baby, and have no receipt.

Zara jeans do this. I washed mine repeatedly but they still turned my legs blue. It took about 7 washes for it to stop, so keep washing them. Sad

turn inside out and wash on a really hot wash a few times - try that

Won't they shrink if they're on a hot wash? I'll just keep washing them I guess! They're Chilli Pepper jeans, and very comfortable.

Jeans are pre shrunk aren't they now, I think it would be ok.

Put salt in your machine when washing. Salt sets dye.

You will need a bit, anywhere between 500g-1kg.

When you buy Dylon washing machine dyes, you have to make the formula up with salt, this is what sets the colour.

HTH

Thank you! I'll give it a go, and report back.
