easy housekeeping routine for retiring DH

Title says most of it, but DH is AS and dyspraxic and needs precise instructions and has never cooked it cleaned before. He has no interest in either. I need to give him a daily rota that he can do in about 2 hours, and precise instructions. I'm still ok with doing some of the cooking and obviously helping at weekends but u work full time.

Rota ideas for the 50s style man?

It depends what needs doing in your house! I think you need to write an exhaustive list of all tasks (empty bins/clean basins/vacuum living room/make beds/open windows) etc and then order them according to how many times a week they need doing. Make a list of daily tasks in a sensible order (eg everything that needs doing in the kitchen, followed by everything that needs doing in the bathroom) that meets your standards, then allocate the tasks that don't need doing daily (eg sheet changing) to a specific day of the week.

Thanks, see I have posted twice. Yes I agree but was sort of hoping someone might have one already or an idea of how to motivate DH..

I have a list of jobs I do daily which includes things like:
Wash dishes, tidy kitchen, wipe worktops;
Load of washing on, put away dry stuff off the maiden;
Tidy bathroom, wipe down surfaces, bleach loo
Hoover living room
Etc

I also have a weekly list, I start fresh each Monday and not fussed what day the jobs get done as long as its finished by Friday. Things like:
Change bedding;
Hoover full house,
Wash bathroom and kitchen floor;
Tidy and clean 1 kitchen cupboard (I do 1 a week, so a different one done each time)
Big shop, and throw away out-of-date food;
Bake treats for DH and DS's lunches.

There's more obviously, these are just the ones that spring to mind on there! I put literally everything on those lists, some things may only take 2 minutes but I like feeling like I've ticked loads off Grin

I also have a half-hour list so at 5.30 (DH home at 6ish) I do the jobs on there, which is things like DS toys away, another quick Hoover if needed, freshen myself up, and kettle on to make DH a brew. If stuff on that list doesn't get done its not the end of the world, it just makes the house more pleasant for DH after a long day at work :)

Try out this website:

ignore the evangleical anti-feminist stuff and it is a fairly good list.
