Can anyone recommend a compost caddy/container with WELL FITTING bags?

Ours is driving me nuts... We would like a reasonably big one so we don't have to empty it constantly (it's a bit of a pain getting at our compost heap especially when it's dark or wet), and we have got the green Lakeland 9-litre one , which we use with compostable bags so it doesn't go too manky and need washing every time (especially given we are trying to empty it less often).

But every bag I've tried, including their own brand and others, is too short and either doesn't reach to the top and has a gap where things fall down and go yucky (esp. the paper ones), or they do reach to the top but barely go over the edge, so as soon as we start putting things in they collapse down and again stuff starts going down the outside of the bag (or it all just falls in and the peelings end up on top).

Please please, if you have found a container with bags that actually fit it which isn't too teeny, or if you have found some bags that really work with the Lakeland one, let me know so I don't end up swearing at a slimy/mouldy caddy all the time!

we used to have the Lakeland one & got fed up with it too

we now have a small round metal kitchen compost bin which I got recently from Aldi & the small green bags I have fit it very well - also, being wider than the tall narrow ones, it actually holds a lot more despite being shorter and the bags will still tie even when it's full to the brim.

alternatively, we also have a short wide Brabantia kitchen waste bin which comes with a half-round compost saver that slots on top under the lid. When that's full you can lob it all into one of the little green bags. Again, being shorter & wider it has a larger effective capacity than the tall narrow ones

the compost bin is a bit like \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eddingtons-Compost-Pail-Stainless-Steel/dp/B001APWMLY/ref=sr_1_7?s=garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1344460264&sr=1-7\this} but about 20 cm wide x 25 high. Dunno what capacity my bags are but they are bigger than the ones shown in the link - about 45cm around

Ooh Aldi sounds good, wonder if they still have them? I'll try to pop in sometime soon, need some cheap nappies too! I also like that it's got a proper handle on the lid, I don't like having to open the Lakeland one with the edge of the lid in case it's got dirty.

The brabantia one does look like you would have to empty it quite often, but maybe that's just the picture? It doesn't say how much the green bit holds.

Thanks for the ideas!
