Post-scabies deep clean: any tips?

I've recently been diagnosed with scabies (it's HORRIBLE): did treatment one on Monday while away, return to home with so far unaffected partner tomorrow.

Since we've been away a week, the mites in the house should be dead as they're not meant to live without humans more than 72 hours. Current plan is apply second just-in-case treatment to both of us tomorrow night, go to bed, wake up Monday morning which I've taken off work to emergency clean and wash sheets, towels etc on high. We've no dryer sadly. Will also vacuum top to bottom.

Wondering if anyone has any idea of what else I should do? We have leather couches, it's a rental and they're fairly nice, could I wipe them down with water and a small amount of bleach of will it discolour them? I don't want to be too paranoid, I got the scabies travelling overseas so the source of infection isn't in the house and i know i caught them quickly but they're so uncomfortable I want to make sure theyre properly gone.

www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Scabies/Pages/Treatment.aspx - does this help?

Make sure you've washed all your clothes. Good luck - its not pleasant is it?!

bleach is not an insecticide.

If you want to put anything on the furniture, carpets or mattress, there may be a spay that is suitable.

The NHS page mentions creams with permethrin or malathion, I think one or other may be available in some kind of bug spray. Perhaps a bed-bug or flea spray.

However I do not know if there is any need to spay like this for scabies.

ps

Any clothes that will not stand a hot wash, you could bag up and take to the laundrette to put in their big drier (as you mention you do not have one)

Tumble driers are good for killing moths, fleas and their eggs so would presumably kill the mites.
