Help me tart up my bathroom and keep it shiny!

Next week the cracked (hairline) sink, broken worktop and lime scale ridden taps are going. Grin

We aren't replacing anything else in the bathroom due to time, money and we might be moving soon ish.

The bathroom consists of a white loo, white plastic corner bath, slate effect laminate floor and large rectangular white/ grey cloudy effect tiles.

So, how do I make it look great?
How do I get the bath shiny? The plastic is possibly scratched as it never looks shiny unless it's wet. Can I fix it/ make it look better?

Please can I have top 'keeping the bathroom shiny' tips please? :)

Bleach the grout inbetween the tiles so they are really white.

Other than that, it sounds a lot nice than my bathroom!

It's not bad. And certainly shouldn't put off any potential buyers if we sell the house.

But I bloody hate the corner bath. It isn't that big once you're in it and has an annoying seat bit in the corner the dc either climb on and slip off or use as a slide at bathtime! Give me a proper shaped bath any day!

I will be bulk buying bleach next week I think. :)

HG Bath shine is good at bringing up baths really well - though of course it won't fix scratches.
If your bath sealant is badly affected by black mould, it would be worth taking off the old sealant and re-sealing (You can get "silicone sealant -eater" from places like B & Q if it doesn't come off cleanly. If you took the old stuff off before your new sink is installed, you could probably persuade the workman fitting your sink to re-seal the bath for little or no extra cost.

If you have only few small bits of black mould you can try:
Folding a pad of kitchen paper so that you have a right angle corner. Applying bleach to the corner and pressing into sealant joint over mould.
Leaving (pref overnight) and then rinsing off bleach.

It is work wiping out shower and bath with squeegee followed by microfibre cloth after use ( only takes a couple of minutes). You can wipe sink with microfibre cloth each evening too. This stops anything ever getting really manky! I clean with bathroom cleaner every so often but not every day. Wiping out is sufficient!

HG mould spray and vikalite will make it shine, though will give you a head ache.

DO NOT USE TOGETHER!

A tip I read was that once it is clean - rub over the tiles and chrome with clear car wax. It adds a protective layer and makes subsequent cleanings easier.

Have never tried it myself though

have never tried it but also... instead of wax.. fly lady recommends a wipe of fabric conditioner over metal to keep it shiney.
