All in together?

I'm really keen to keep on top of laundry as I have just got to bottom of mountain and all is clean, ironed and put away. Ideally doing a load a day would help but is it possible to chuck everything in together or will lights just end up looking many?

If you want whites to stay really white then I think you have to do them separately. You might get away with just separating lights and darks. After the first few days would you have enough of one or other of them to do a full wash every day?

I do everything together. Then wash at 40
I separate jeans and wooly things but otherwise it all goes in.
I have 2 preschool dc so whites are never white. Hmm

If anyone in your house ever wants to wear smart white shirts, they have got to be washed separate from anything that isn't white. "Nearly white" and "white with a bit of colour on it" won't do. I don't know anything else that is so noticable to the trained eye.

It is easy to achieve this if you have white bedding or towels or Tees so you can make a load up.

I agree with PigletJohn about whites, especially white bedlinen and towels too!

whites and pales can go together with no noticable difference.

ha!

You haven't been exposed to the dazzling purity of my business shirts, ethel!

All in together.

Don't buy anything white.

Simples :)

IMO white towels and sheets go slowly grey/off white unless you wash whites separately!! I don't have any white clothes (other than underwear!) as I look terrible in white ( my skin takes on a greenish tinge!)

We don't own anything white or delicate, except our sheets, which are all shades of white or cream. Whatever's in the washing basket just gets chucked in, there's no thought or sorting involved. I do have separate adult and kid washing baskets but that's just because I find it easier to fold and sort them at the end that way.

I do a wash maybe every second day, adults' stuff, kids' stuff, or bedclothes - both kids are still in cots so the whole household's bedclothes make up one load.

Everything goes in the same 40 degree wash, gets hung on clothes horse, gets folded and brought upstairs and put away. None of this ironing business in my house, thanks!

Polycotton whites are more likely to stay white in a pales wash than cotton ones are!
