A fear of crayons

Ok, completely irrational but I have this fear that my ds (21 months) is going to attack my walls with crayons. He's a typical toddler (read: IN TO EVERYTHING) so not sure why I'm fearing this more than anything else he's in to. But I supposed him eating a veg stock cube this evening did no long term damage!

I feel like I need to plan in advance how to remove crayon before it happens... Do I need to get some resources in, or am
I likely to have stuff in that will save my walls?

A couple of disclaimers... We he lots of magnolia walls as we live a new build and need to wait a year or so for it to settle... Also, I do give ds colouring books retc and draw with him.... It's a very irrational fear!!

Keep any writing implements out of reach unless under supervision?

Works for us.

I have some of those already Flouncer but completely forgot about them. I'll dig them out of the cupboard tomorrow...

I do tend to supervise 99.9% of the time but once he's set up, I tend to pop into the kitchen to switch the oven off/check in dinner etc as our evening time is short so don't want to pass up the opportunity to do "stuff" after work but also need to make dinner/empty bags/go to loo etc...

Ds was very 'crafty' and has never drawn on walls or furniture.

Supervision is KEY - sit down with him for the 5 mins that is will be colouring then crayons back in the box and put up on a shelf. Count 'em out and count 'em back in again Wink

I always supervise DD too and yet she still managed to find a pen lost down the back of the sofa and draw me a lovely picture on the oak coffee table while I went into the kitchen to make a cup of tea.

OP you can get water soluble crayons from Crayola. they are great. if they get where they are not supposed to be, they literally wipe off with a damp cloth.
