HATE rubbish bins but need them as we seem to generate a lot of rubbish.

Bathroom and kitchen is fine but what is the solution for lounge & bedrooms? Ideally something vaguely good looking, easy to clean etc etc.

My mum has always used ceramic plant pots - I know it sounds weird but such a variety available in different colours and washable for when my dozy DF puts applecores/other more kitchen bin kind of stuff in the sitting room bin. I have a vile plastic Ikea thing but it is hidden behind an antique fire screen so you cannot see it.

Can you not manage to walk with your rubbish from the lounge to the kitchen?

This must be the Ultimate in Lazy Lifestyle.

Oh I think they are a good idea to have - especially for snotty tissues! Otherwise I know I would end up either nagging DC/DH to take rubbish to kitchen or having to constantly pick up their rubbish for them!

DD too little to reach bin in kitchen so want one elsewhere downstairs to help to teach her to put litter in a bin.

Not walking cotton buds/make up removal paraphernalia etc from bedroom to bathroom when I could just have a bin in my room.

If that makes me lazy so be it!

Never mind me. I just assume that everybody is like me, and apply their make up etc, in the bathroom rather than bedroom, etc. Sorry.

My rubbish bins are tres chic. I use plastic carrier bags!

I have at least enough small plastics bins for one in each room, but they seem to be constanly in transit and not where they need to be. There is usually a carrier bag to hand!

we have something similar to this in the living room and dining room. We have plastic versions in the bedrooms/bathrooms.

Seona1973 · 09/07/2012 09:36

p.s. I put a plastic bag in the bin to line it and make it easier to empty

I have wicker bins, and I use plain carrier bags as liners, or sometimes actual bin liners for them. They are in pretty much every room upstairs (bathroom has metal bin tho). They are very cheap and I love natural materials so go with he rest of the furnishings, but they are tucked unobtrusively in corners. Cheap too.

Ohh Seona just followed your link - yes we have v similar ones but in paler wicker!
