Panel Duvets (Duvets you can split and wash in machine at home)

Has anyone bought one of these? www.homewashduvets.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=5
They come in four panels so you can upzip and put each panel in your home washing machine.
I love the idea of them but they're expensive! I would like to be able to launder my duvet easily though when needed rather than re-buying or trotting down to laundrette. My duvet is smelling a bit sweaty so I either need to get it washed or buy a new one. Being a king size duvet, the duvet I currently have it won't fit in my machine.

I think the price (£99 for polyester superking) is pretty good actually... DCs have snap apart polyester filled John Lewis single size duvets in 9 and 4.5 tog and they wash really well so imagine these would too.

Our dry cleaner charges just over a tenner to do any size duvet - I'd think it'd be cheaper for you to launder in the short term till yours is a bit more worn out.

Launderette service wash left mine with dark grey stitching instead of white, so don't want to use them again. After spilling black coffee on double, I thought I'd try recovering it with a thin cotton sheet before buying two new ones I could wash at home. It's worked brilliantly, looks beautifully clean of course, and now I'm wondering if I should cut second one into panels, machine hem them separately before washing (and drying)then hem back together again and recover this one with another sheet. Well, I think it would be worthwhile, having saved money and landfill space on the first one (and I'm not especially good at sewing).
