John Lewis Pearl Round Table

Hello
Does anyone have this?

We need to replace our current table and I really like this one. But I'm wondering how the top would handle my kids leaning on it? Also DP tends to lean on tables too.

Does the top rock or is it sturdy enough to withstand weight on the edges, IYSWIM?

Many Thanks in advance

i dont have this table, but.... it will be horrific to keep clean :/
on the other hand, if anything goes wrong then john lewis are normally pretty good with returns and stuff?

Thanks Bubbles. We use microfibre cloths for cleaning windows and mirrors and they are brilliant when just a but damp. So I'm hoping that they'll work the same for a glass table.

That's a good point about John Lewis' returns. Ideally we'd like a table about 120 in diameter but haven't been able to find an affordable one in this style.

We currently have a rectangular wooden table which is lovely or at least was but one of the legs keeps falling off and also all the knots are starting to come out and it's really difficult to clean. If anything spills onto it, the knots also leak.

Thanks for your help.

We have a glass dining table, admittedly not as nice as the one you are looking at, and it is the bane of my life. As Bubbles said, it is horrific to keep clean any even the smallest bit of dust on it makes it look awful. Even with microfiber clothes I struggle to get rid of the streaks on it, and just when I think I have, te light changes and more appear.
Ours has also been quite badly scratched by the DC, often where they put cutlery down a bit to hard and things, so that might be a consideration for you to.

I have had this one for 3yrs - cleans brilliant with microfibre, we paint / eat etc on it (I have a 3yr old), so has been tested. Has scratched in places, but not that you would notice. It's down point is that toddlers do crash into it - being clear, but if you position chairs around it in their viewpoint this sorts it. I replaced my wooden rectangle table too, for the same reasons as you.

It holds weight fine at the edges, so no worries regarding it toppling or breaking. It seats 4 people comfortably - maybe 5 with 3 LO's and two adults.

Hope this helps!

Ooh, thank you both.

I hadn't considered the scratching, but it's good to know that you have one May09 and that it's been tested. :)

We have a 6 seater table at the moment but it's really too big for the room it's in. We bought it when we lived in a 2 bed flat that had huge rooms. Our 3 bed house has smaller rooms so it's never really quite fitted. We don occasionally have 6 people eating but I guess we'd have to squeeze onto the table if we went for this one.

It has to go in the kitchen as we don't have a separate dining room.

Hmm, I'm hoping I can convince DP to get one this weekend. Wink

Thanks again for your helpful reply Thanks
