sorry if it is not the right place to post this, im not too sure where else i should ask....
i NEED something that will make a latte as good as one i can buy in a shop, but i dont want a proper coffee machine like in a coffee shop iykwim....
with 3 under 3.5, it is proving near impossible to get my daily fix of cafeine, yet instant coffee doesnt do the trick....
am i embarking on a hopeless quest? please help!!!
if it does good expressos too, then dp wont say anything about the price....

Susieloo - that is what most reviews say... Which is odd since it is endorsed by Starbucks, costa, etc...

Sounds like a dolce gusto would suit you perfectly. All you need to do is fill up the hot water container and you put in your capsules. You can make latte, cappuccino, espresso, mocha, hot chocolate is amazing. You just buy the capsules you want and for the latte you use 1 coffee capsule and 1 milk capsule so no frothing or steaming of milk etc it does it for you. A lot more reasonable priced too compared to some of the others. Oh also make sure you can buy the coffee or the capsules at your supermarket as some of them you can only buy from selfridges and that would drive me mad.

I went to Selfridges and the Nespresso bar is.... not a bar/coffee shop... i was a bit disappointed... Wink no George Clooney either...!

I was iniatially interested withthe Lattissima and asked to be shown how to make a latte with it. I was impressed by the little noise it made but not by the design. Coffee tasted too strong to my taste too...

I finally pick up the citiz model and the aerroccino (got a £40 discount voucher that paid for most of the aeroccino)
Arrived at home, i thought i'll try a cup before hiding it for sunday.
The noise was awful... i started to regret the lattissima...

I found how to turn the noise down, washed the citiz and the aeroccino and made my first cappuccino with a decaf capsule. Really impressed with the taste, speed and the way it is easy to clean the aeroccino.
The only thing i need to work on now is how to make my cappuccino look as good as in coffee shop because the foam looked more like an iceberg than a smooth froth!

Hopefully DP will like it too :)

Thank you!!

What did you do to turn the noise down? (nosy)

tostaky · 15/06/2012 18:46

You have to insert a pod and keep on pressing either the short or long button until the noise is at the level required. Have a look in the documentation it is explained Smile

too bad i have come to this thread too late...
we have the presso. it is wonderful!

Buddhastic · 16/06/2012 11:43

I bought my Dh a nespresso pixie for his Christmas and the aerocinno for his birthday. He loves them and as I don't drink coffee it's all his. He did say that if he had bought me a kitchen appliance as a gift I would have throttled him. This is true!

Bialetta stove top - honestly save all the hassle (and waste and cost) with the gimicky pods. you fill the bottom with water middle with coffee and 3-4 minutes later have fab coffee.

Just see too late you bought a machine...
