Do leather sofas always go 'baggy'

I've seen a couple of (not cheap) leather sofas that I like but on checking ebay second hand ones look baggy like they have lost weight and have extra skin!

Is this normal or does it depend on how structured the sofa is?

New sofa

Old sofa

Thanks

I have had my (bloody expensive) sofas for nearly 10 years, they arent baggy

I have:

  • Leather sofa & chair from Ikea, ~10 yrs old, used daily, not baggy at all, but is quite 'firm' type of style
  • Leather sofa from Heals, ~7 yrs old, used daily, not baggy but is softer than when we bought.

So, no, but both mine are 'firmer' styles than the ones you link, which look like they are meant to be more squashy - especially the pillow-y top bits?

I have had my M&S leather sofas for over 10 years now and they aren't baggy.

I have two different leather DFS sofas - one 8 years old and one less than a year old - neither are baggy and they both have sewn in cushions which I think makes a big difference to how they wear.

Thanks for the feedback.

DH went into a shop today, they said the bagginess is due to lower quality leather so you must all have chosen well!
