I have done some research...

Apparently there is an Irish faery called a Bean-Tighe.

^The Bean-Tighe attaches her self to a home. She is a faery house keeper. The members of the family would often wake to find unfinished chores done. She especially worked to help the tired and overworked mother.

They love children and will make sure they are taken care of. They will adjust blankets, sing lullabys and close drafty windows.

If you want to invite one to your home leave her a bowl of strawberries and cream. They are especially attracted to homes with children in. Do not keep your home spotless because she must feel needed. You are indeed blessed if the Bean-Tighe chooses to take up residence in your home. ^

I am off to get some strawberries :)

Sadly you'll have to rely on the Brownie housework fairy:

Twist me, and turn me, and show me the elf,
I looked in the water and there I saw....

myself.

I knew there was a reason to always have strawberries and cream in the house...

So, once attracted, will I need to keep feeding her strawberries and cream, or will she stay for ever as long as she is needed?

I have a housework fairy but it only does certain chores Grin

RedDisc · 29/05/2012 13:19

Well the Irish Fairy must be on bloody strike Grin as I'm Irish and I've never seen her

Houseworkprocrastinator · 29/05/2012 13:20

The' Bean an Ti' means the woman of the house in Irish. The wife in other words. There is no cleaning fairy Sad
