Dp and I have the 236 cms tall ones ( we have high ceilings). I have a double wardrobe which has a shelf at the top on which I have boxes that I don't need to get out very often (e.g. photo, cards, pictures the kids have done etc). Then I have a hanging rail. Below that is another shelf that I have my shoes on and below that I have 2 of the wire baskets that I keep my jumpers in.

Then we have a single wardrobe which is mainly shelves which store various boxes of crap and my handbags, but in the middle we have 2 of the wooden pull out drawers which we keep toileitries in. This wardrobe is shared by me and DP

Finally DP has a single wardrobe which has the same layout as mine, it's just half the width as he has less stuff Blush.

I absolutely love our pax wardrobes. We only got them a few months ago but they have honestly chnaged my life. I struggle to keep tidy, but because the wardrobe layout is taylored to what we need everything has a place so it is easy to find stuff and put it away.

HTH if you have any questions I can probably answer them, but I do really, really reccomend pax wardrobes (and I don't work for Ikea!).

i'll be watching this thread!

tutu - we are looking at getting pax wardrobes soon and i was thinking of getting the wire baskets rather than the drawers. are the baskets substantial enough for e.g. a stack of t shirts?

MushroomSoup · 20/05/2012 15:57

Oh I love our pax wardrobes. It's now a pleasure to put laundry away!!
Yes the wire drawers are strong - hold all our tshirts/light jumpers etc.
The pull out shoe racks saved my marriage! (I have lots too many and now they are no longer scattered around the house.
Also have wide shelves at the top to hold the recommended boxes - they hold winter coats and bedding.
Love it! Just think hard about your requirements ie where you need dress length or shirt length for your rails.

We have a double wardrobe,Hemnes doors. It is in ds room so he doesn't require much hanging space. On one side we put 2 rails,so great for his little outfits & the lower one for dh work shirts (in there because they are white,so looks nice & neat when opened Blush ). On the other side we have 2 fixed shelves for towels, drawers for bed linen & 2 wire baskets, again for bed linen, tea towels & napkins. We only got the wire baskets to use as much space as poss as you can't put as many drawers near the brackets. It is a shrine to my obsessive ways!

We have pax wardrobes now, love them!

But we only have one wire basket at bottom of one wardrobe we keep shoes in.

In our old house we had same idea wardrobe but from B&Q with baskets. I hated having to open both doors to pull out a drawer, tiny thing but it really started to grate on me. This time we bought a separate chest of drawers for t-shirts, underwear etc.

Replied on your other thread, for anyone else looking to see how good Pax is see here

tutu100 · 21/05/2012 21:54

The wire baskets are really strong. I have 12 pairs of jeans in one of my double width baskets.

ceres · 22/05/2012 19:59

thanks. good to know the wire baskets are strong. will def go for those instead of the drawers - much cheaper too!
