Has anyone used Plumbs for sofa covers?

And are they any good? Or can you recommend another company?

We have 2 DC and a cream fabric sofa. We are having too many accidents and it's time we got this thing covered up. I don't mind paying more for a decent one but don't want to feel like I've been taken for a mug. Any suggestions welcomed. TIA.

We used them for new covers for an armchair and a two-seater sofa in January. They were brilliant, overall. Not a huge range of fabric designs but we wanted a basic re-cover in a similar design so that was okay. The new covers fit perfectly and the rep was superb. So I would recommend.

I am pondering doing this for mine - but have no idea of the price - any idea what a ball park figure for say a 3 seater sofa would be ?

A few hundred?

We had a 3-piece covered many years ago, still looks 99% as new, machine-washes well but does look a bit
"polyesterish" as not natural fabric and prefer it with throws.
I'd wait/ask for special offers, as huge savings possible.

Reaaly disappointed with mine that I had a few years ago. the covers are stretchy polyester which i didn't realise at the time (but should have as he showed me samples) and I said I specifically didn't want that sort of fabric and that I positively hated it. I wish he had pointed this out when I actually made my choice. I had a 3 peice suite covered, well actually 2 s3 seater sofas and a chair and it cost about £800 aqbout 5 years ago.

Why on earth would anyone pay that much for stretchy covers?????? You could buy a new sofa for that Shock.

Showtime · 09/05/2012 23:25

You're right Ducky, but it's a saving on buying expensive
furniture, and extending the life seems greener than using landfill.

mirry2 · 09/05/2012 23:25

I know, Duckypoos, I know. In my defence, the sofas are very expensive ones, but as I sai, I didn't realise they were stretchy polyester until he arrived to put them on.

My sister did and they are lovely.

Any alternative suggestions? I know that Plumbs are going to come up expensive with their glossy brochures and free in home consultations. The sofa itself is made of a very nice material it seems a shame to cover it up with a nasty fabric. I just can't relax when the kids get near it though. It was around £900 new a year ago.
