Now I normally descale things on the 1st but run out of descaler. I have used different citric acid powders but my steriliser seems to get pretty yucky (I'm in v hard water area).
Has anyone used a particularly good one? Looked at Lakeland, wondered if it's good.
Sorry for the vv dull topic!

For the kettle? Get the 14p bottles of vinegar from Sainsburys and put about half in the kettle, boil, pour out and repeat. If the limescale is bad, you may need to do it 3 or 4 times. Obviously clean it really well and do a few boils with fresh water before you make a cuppa!

We're in London and it works - less chemically than the commercial cleaners.

Tried vinegar before, couldn't stand the lingering smell! I descale steriliser, bottle warmer, kettle & the coffee machine. The delonghi one is pretty expensive. I like a tablet/sachet that I pop in & marvel at all the cruddy limescale that comes off. Thanks for the reply though.

Where do you buy citric acid powder?
You could try cola as a descaler, too. The 2 litre bottle size, and at least it leaves a nice odour. Takes longer than vinegar or tablets, though heating helps it work faster.
I don't like all the "poison" labels on the otc descaler products.

I don't mind the chemically stuff Blush

The citric acid powders that I generally use are from amazon.
