I'm turning into a slattern!

I used to be so houseproud and would quite happily welcome unexpected visitors into my house at any time as it was always clean and tidy.

But recently I've really fallen behind with things and I just can't seem to get on top of things. I'm off work just now with depression so everything seems like such an effort. I'm just about managing to keep on top of the washing and ironing and the dishes get done everyday. But that is really it.

How can I get my cleaning mojo back?

maybe join the babysteps thread. Cant link as it has dropped off my list of on threads.

Sometimes are harder than others, but is your house really that bad? Or do you just have high standards? My 2 dogs are shedding coats at the moment and despite daily hoovering and floor washing I feel downstairs is a mess. Its probably not as bad as I think, but after being in a friends house (who has no animals at all) and hers being spotless it made me think.

Dont get me wrong, my house isnt a pig sty.

At times of particular stress cleaning standards will always slip a bit, currently a week before all my Uni deadlines and do us doing loads of overtime, I am TERRIFED somebody's going to knock on and i'll have to let them in!

Focus on you and being kind to yourself. If hat makes you feel better is going all Kim and Aggie then go for it, if not then it really isn't the end of the world Smile

I'm not surprised if you're depressed! Don't be so hard on yourself. Concentrate on getting better. I have had depression, and yes the smallest thing is so physically and mentally challenging, and yet ironically it's also when you're the most hard on yourself for not getting stuff done! So no practical advice sorry, but you'll find as you get better (which you will by the way), it will all just start getting easier and you'll get your mojo back.Smile

I dont expect you will be able to manage more than that.
Practical suggestions are is there somebody who you can do gentle chores with, though dont expect too much of yourself. The persons company might help too.Gently does it.
And cabbage can be good for good mental health if you think you may have it because of a chemical imbalance.2 or 3 portions a week.Raw will do.

I dont expect it is, you may just be getting anxious about it.
