Cleaning venetian blinds

Can anyone give me the best way to clean a venetian blind?
I have a massive one in my lounge. It is too big for my bath
I am loath to actually take it down as I doubt I could put it back up - its very heavy!.
Its thick with dust despite me trying to clean it with cloths/dusters
Would appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks

Those Venetian blind cleaner thingies with you slot the blinds in between are crap IMO. Unfortunately the best way to clean them is to clean them one by one with a wipe/ damp cloth. Sorry, probably not the answer you are looking for

Vacuum it!

I have a floor to ceiling narrow slatted one. It got filthy during my building project. I have vacuumed it while slats closed and then I used my steam cleaner (with the cloth over the brush end) and went over it with that. It's not perfect and needs another go but it's the best I've managed so far.

I would enlist help and take it down. Out into the garden and lay it flat with slats shut. Big car cleaning sponge and give it a good old wash. (lay it on an old sheet if neccessary). Rinse, wipe over with an e cloth and re hang whilst damp.

It is the easiest way although sounds a pain....(have 7 full length blinds that I have to clean occasionally!!)

I just close mine and wipe them with a fluffy duster, then close them the other way and do the other side. It's not perfect, but life is too short to wipe each slat with a damp cloth.

I've heard that baby wipes are great for cleaning blinds. Up till now I've used a feather duster type thing and it's an absolute disaster, my asthma doesn't appreciate it at all.

Slat by slat with a damp cloth I'm afraid. Hoover first if very dusty. You don't need to take it down though.

Hoover with mini brush attachment thingy

then baby wipes.
