So, ds did a squitty poo in the bath. What's the best way of cleaning the MASSIVE Lego boat he was playing with at the time?

TMI (sorry) There were no solids, but the boat has been floating in... poo water. What can I clean it with that won't be a problem when ds plays with it (puts it in his mouth!). It is a massive police boat with about a million pieces...

dishwasher - just run an empty wash afterwards if you are worries, but the temperature should be high enough to kill any nasties.
wool or handwash cycle of the washing mashine would work as well, but put it inside a zipped pillowcase.

no worries storm, I'm sorted!
The problem with ducks is the hollow centre and little hole.. how can the middle ever be properly cleaned?? I might just chuck it if I were you!

For Lego - shower it off in very hot water followed by a good soak in a bucket of disinfectant. You could empty a bottle of antibac spray into the bucket and top up with hot soapy water. Don't use bleach on it unless you want mottled grey Lego.

For the duck in the empty toilet - good wash in very hot soapy water.

What Fengirl said.

(Poor little lad,hope he's OK)

I wouldn't bother taking it apart necessarily. If the 'cleaning' water doesn't get into the nooks and crannies, the poo water won't have done IYSWIM.

It's a big duck so didn't soak anything up! I'm thinking I could do with sterlising the jets in the bath so I could chuck a load of Milton in and the duck and kill two ducks birds with one stone?

In fact I could chuck all the toys in?

skinny thanks, he's ok Smile After poowatergate he asked me what keeps poo from coming out. He now tells me he 'loves' the word "sphincter" and he's looking forward to telling his (Reception) teacher about it on Monday. That'll be nice for her.

Storm good to hear your duck is not a sucker. Reckon your plan is a good one, always good to do multiple jobs in one go.

Soak in a bucket of very hot soapy water, rinse a couple of times, hang on line in a mesh bag.

Empty bath and rinse down toy and bath with cold water with shower attachment, then with scalding hot water - as hot as it will go.

When all appears utterly spotless, leave toy in bath and put plug in. Fill bath up to level child was in/to cover toy with very hot water. Add soap and disinfectant. Leave overnight and drain in morning. Bath and contents disinfected in one.

We chuck ducks, though. Life's too short to disinfect the bowels of a 99p plastic duck.

Soak in oxyclean, then disinfect
