I just bought the hometek elite from costco, paid 40 or so for it, 1st attempt floor very wet, not that impressed but then bought myself the pads that velcro on bottom from ebay which were about £4 for 3 posted and BRILLIANT!! Obviously original pad too thick(shaggy bath mat style thickness) new ones are towelling and it works a treat, you have to use a bottle that softens water, they are £9 for 6 , but still on original bottle supplied with it.
You will need more than one pad as have to clean it frequently, I have dogs so it does not lift hairs up, so you push hairs to edge and collect later, worth hassle as cleans all stains, even on my carpet as it has a plastic guard to use with it. Cleans wood too, as now not too wet and heats up in seconds, literally.
I did see a fab karcher all singing and dancing one, with all sorts of attachments for about 125, with free steam iron, so was torn but for money am very happy.

I like the idea of them. Seem to remember people talking about one from Lakeland on here. Can you use them on laminate floors?

yes as long as its not too wet, looked at lakeland ones, the best rated is discontinued and others cost fair bit more for same job.
If you had a bigger budget, as was being mean that day ,the karcher 1020 or 1030 looks great.
