I'm in the market for a new hoover and I want one that will rock my world. I'm so fed up with crap hoovers. I don't care what it costs - I just want the dog's bs of the hoover world and I don't know what that is. Do any of you absolutely love your hoover? If so please tell me what it is.

Very true ali - I thought that as well. But then you can't help but admire a brand name that has been absorbed into the collective psyche to such an extent that it has become the thing, rather than just a 'make'. Many people refer to vacuum cleaners as Hoovers.

Given that most brands would probably give their eye teeth to have that level of association with a product, it's actually quite a pity that Hoovers aren't really much cop (imho) compared to the competition. No-one has come on to suggest buying one I noticeWink

I had one years ago and it was absolute rubbish. I got so infuriated with it one day that I rammed it in the wheely binBlush. Possible pmt that day perhaps.

Miele cat and dog is the dogs.

However, I saw on the QVC channel that there is a new Miele out, similar to the cat and dog but with automatic height adjustment and headlights

madmomma · 23/04/2012 16:48

I've decided I want an upright I think it's gonna have to be a miele

AA swoon, how can I make my Miele wear out? I sold the idea to DH that the Miele wouldn't wear out for years wouldn't to justify having one upstairs and one downstairs!

AberdeenAgnes · 23/04/2012 20:00

Alibubbles, it will never wear out I'm afraid. Not for a hundred, hundred years.

Am thinking of customising mine, I wonder if you can buy after-market headlights?

soaccidentprone · 23/04/2012 20:56

Sorry to disappoint you, but my miele is pants.

It's less than 3 years old and the motor has gone. £85 for miele to repair it. It cost me £320 and I thought it would last forever. It was so bloody expensive I couldn't afford the £30 for the extended 10 year warranty. If only I could turn back the clock Sad.

The bloke in the repair shop recommended a sebo.

I don't know what to do now. Get the bloody thing repaired or fork out for a sebo, or buy the one in lidl for £40?

Sorry to hijack your thread Smile

Iggly · 23/04/2012 21:25

SEBO!

alibubbles · 23/04/2012 21:33

AberdeenAgnes · 24/04/2012 11:50
