Dyson handheld

I want a good handheld vacuum cleaner (ie one that actually sucks!) and was thinking about a Dyson but they are so expensive!

Does anyone have one and are they worth the money? Or is there any other make you would recommend?

We have a cat btw and the hair does get everywhere but I also want it for crumbs etc when it's not worth getting the proper vacuum out.

Yes I've got one and I love it - just replaced the battery after about 3 or 4 years use so that's not bad going!

Yes - definitely worth paying the extra for. Having got through several other dustbusters, I would certainly recommend the Dyson.

Ours has quite heavy, daily use - so last year I bought a spare battery unit, so I can swap them over when it runs out of charge. (When it dies,it just stops with no warning, so I've found it really useful to have a spare to hand.)

Go for it - you won't regret it!

I have one - think it is the DC35 (the one with the long attachment for the floor).

Like you I thought it was incrediblely expensive, but DH really wanted to go for a Dyson - we have had various DustBusters in the past and I personally found them to be not great.

Had the Dyson 2 months now (so a very recent convert) and I love it. Good suction, not too heavy (my 3 year old loves using mine) and the floor attachment is ace - currently 9 mths pg and it is fab for whizzing around at the end of the day to pick up the toddler crumbs - no bending, etc. I have super long hair (bum length) which does get caught around the brushes on the floor attachment, but it takes two seconds to take it apart and the hair can easily be sniped and pulled off in a minute - compared with the pain that is trying to clean the roller brushes on my Henry.

So a big thumbs up from me. Oh, and I managed to make it slightly less painful to buy by using supermarket loyalty vouchers to offset some of the price - loads of different places sell the Dysons so if you have points or vouchers stored up it maight be worth using them.
