Supermarket Pricing ARGH!!!

I am so fed up with supermarket pricing. I shop at Sainsbos mainly, but foray into Tesco and Waitrose occasionally.

I want... say...washing powder - or loo roll - or kitchen roll - or dishwasher powder. To buy in bulk often doesn't pay, but I have to spend about 10 minutes working out if product A is better at 12.50 a litre or Product B is cheaper at 5.2p a wash or C at 1.15 per 100ml.

I CAN do the maths - its just the TIME involved. I just want the best deal, but to do that requires mental capacity to convert ml into Litres, or the number of washes against the overall price.

Why don't they at least take all their washing liquids/ dishwasher powders/ loo rolls and just price them all at the same level?

... or is it just me that feels like this?!

That's why I do my shop online cos you can compare price per 100g of whatever

In sainsburys, the shelf label always gives a price per 100g/unit in small letters.

Yes, maybe online shopping is a better place to start. At least I can sit with a cup of coffee to do my sums
AgentP - I have found that its price per 100g for some products, and then a price per litre for others - all on the same shelf!

I check on mysupermarket.co.uk for special offers on cat food/dog food/named toileties etc.
It does the big four and tells you what deals are on.
I use John Frieda hair products but only buy them in when they are three for two.
We shop between Tesco, Asda, Aldi, the local market/butcher and the pound shops.
