Tips to get rid of smell of paint

A few weeks ago we had a little leak in our chimney, which has been fixed.

Our house is on the market and we have got our first viewing in 2 and a half months at the weekend. (We have been busy, and were going to re-paint this weekend anyway, though are now wishing we had made time sooner)

we had not got round to re-painting so we have applied stain stop paint last night, and will be painting the wall tonight.

Is there anyway at all the the paint smell can be completley gone by our viewing on Sunday lunch time?

We have all the windows open, but i think we might need some other tricks too...

and if it needs another coat (we wont know til tomorrow am) can we get rid of paint smells within 24hours?

ventilation and fresh air.

Some people think that shutting the windows and turns the heat up is faster for drying paint, but it isn't, unless it's below freezing.

If it is emulsion, the smell is not very strong and weakens rapidly. A bit of fresh paint shouldn't upset buyers.

If it's emulsion, you can recoat within a few hours if it's thumbnail-proof. I sometimes go round a room and by the time I've done the 4th wall and had a mug of tea, the first wall is ready for its second coat, with no need to put anything away or clean the roller. Two coats will be better than one and the second will be quicker.

My dad reckons that halved onions get rid of paint fumes either that or you just can't smell it over the onion fumes

I air, fragrance and air again. I use a heavily scented oils in burners so that after the second airing any lingering smell is of sandalwood or whatever I've used.

I'd do it throughout the house to mask the transition from room to room.
