Help!

I've scrubbed it with Flash Lemon, and sprayed it with Febreze. I've left it outside tonight so hopefully it will smell fresh tomorrow.

Any ideas just in case it doesn't?

Can you take the covers off and bung them in the machine?

ilovesprouts · 08/03/2012 20:34

can you not take the cover off and wash it ? i would not leave outside just in case an animal wees in it ;)

Flisspaps · 08/03/2012 20:35

Where've you bought it from?

bemybebe · 08/03/2012 20:36

agree with grumpla. all fabrics on my uppababy bassinet and the seat go in the machine. see if yours can.

I bought a bumbo on ebay and it stank of smoke.
I cleaned it, left it outside, soaked it in bleach, it always stank!

SuperSlattern · 08/03/2012 20:53

I bought it second hand.

No, the seat fabric and pram hood won't come off enough to fit in the washer.

I might try hand washing with washing powder.

We don't get any animals in our back garden. I've a v territorial dog who barks at anything that dares to come near our garden Smile

I brought a second hand pram, didn't smell so not sure if it will work but I put it under the shower in the bath and washed it.

ilovesprouts · 09/03/2012 04:09

what make of pram is it?

WentworthMillerMad · 09/03/2012 06:40

Hour and hours of fresh air - rain wont hurt either!😜

SuperSlattern · 09/03/2012 07:32

It's a mamas and papas Luna

It seems better this morning. I think some bio washing powder in the bath and a good scrub will get rid of the rest

Wash it well otherwise your baby is in contact with a load of cleaning chemicals as well as the residual smoke

Flisspaps · 09/03/2012 07:53

Even second hand I'd be inclined to contact the seller and return it. And I never return anything, and am the sort of slattern who hasn't bothered re-washing the clothes I packed away for DC2!

YankNCock · 09/03/2012 07:55

Did the listing claim it was from a smoke-free home? If so, you'd have a good case to return and get your money back.

TiddlerIsTardy · 09/03/2012 08:01

I would be so wary of laying a baby in a smoky pram. I managed to get a lot more fabric off our pram by unscrewing bits, and then I used a launderette for the bigger drum.

Someone did recommend the jet wash at the garage with bio liquid & a brush?!

oreocrumbs · 09/03/2012 10:57

When I need to clean my stroller (which isn't removable) I use a soft scrubbing brush and washing powder. Mine has never been dirty enough to warrent it, but If I were you I would soak it with the stuff and then hose it down to make sure there is no residue.

If the fabric is currently dry, I would rub bicarbonate soda into it and leave it for 24 or 48 hours first. That should neutralise the smell, and then hoover it off before setting about it with a wet clean.

Or send it back if you can.
