When do you get your washing in?

So it's been out since about 11 this morning. The sun is getting lower now but it's still bright.

At which point do you get it in to prevent it getting damp again? It's always bugged me.

I'd get it in now. The temp will drop as the sun sets so it won't dry any more today. Smile

If I am on the ball, about 5 to 3 before the school run. It invariably rains while I am halfway up the road without a mac ;)

countessbabycham · 08/03/2012 17:13

I would have got it in a bit earlier than this TBH.

Hullygully · 08/03/2012 17:14

Sunday after church unless the minister is coming round because he likes to see a few drawers flapping on the line.

countessbabycham · 08/03/2012 17:14

Ooops!

SixtyFootDoll · 08/03/2012 17:16

I got mine in at 4 today, was starting to feel cold and damp

flamingtoaster · 08/03/2012 17:22

About 3.30 today - it was dry!

Seona1973 · 08/03/2012 17:26

I haven't put any out this year yet (scotland) but then we haven't had good enough weather.

MrsPresley · 08/03/2012 18:31

I bring it in bewtween 3 and 4.

Been getting the washing out most days since early February and always had it dry. Sometimes it doesnt matter if it's not sunny but if it's breezy that's better.

Like Seona I'm in Scotland but obviously in a windier area Grin

imnotmymum · 08/03/2012 18:36

But if you put it out on the line you have to iron it right ?? tumble all the way !

flamingtoaster · 08/03/2012 18:38

imnotmymum - of course you don't need to iron it! Spun not too dry and put on hangers it's absolutely fine after blowing around in the garden.

tentative123 · 08/03/2012 18:40

When it starts getting dark. Dh bought it in about 30 mins ago..

MrsHoarder · 08/03/2012 18:44

When the sun drops below the houses at the back. Until then our patio is a sun-trap and things are drying even in this weather. Although it'll be a couple of months yet before things are coming in completely dry.

Riversidegirl · 08/03/2012 18:48

Ohhh! Your ment to bring it in again? I wonder why my line was bending. Blush I've been married for two years! LOL

MadameChinLegs · 08/03/2012 18:53

When I go to get dressed, can't find something, and lo, it's on the line. Thing is, it's been 4 days since I last put a wash on Hmm

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 08/03/2012 18:55

When dew starts forming on the grass

imnotmymum · 08/03/2012 19:18

ha ha that is what happens when I put washing out it is out there for days cannot be arsed to trek and get it in and then usually needs rewashing !!

xJessica · 08/03/2012 21:25

I usually get mine in just before it gets dark but it's probably got damp again by then - I really should get it in sooner. I do find that if I then hang it up in the house, it finishes off drying really quickly.

Rainydayagain · 09/03/2012 20:28

3.30 get it out as early as poss i wash overnight and hang out at 7.00 am usuallt dry or almost. ( very windy hill top location)

CremeEggThief · 09/03/2012 21:42

I have only put some out twice or three times so far this year, and that's brave for me as I don't normally until April or May, but I aim to get it in just before I leave for school run. So about 2.45 p.m.
