I want to get some nice bedding when we eventually finish decorating our bedroom. But the budget might be limited to say the least.

So... Teach me what to look for so that I get the best for my budget.

Thank you oh wise ones! Grin

100% cotton of the best quality you can afford. I would suggest waiting till the sales and then buying. I'm very dull I'm afraid and I think the best stuff is in John Lewis. White Company is lovely too but very expensive though I believe they do have some outlets.

Agree, 100% cotton, preferably Egyptian Cotton, preferably with a high thread count.

Keep an eye on TKMaxx - especially if you are a Superking size bed. You can get all sorts of things, but its a bit mix and match so have a look regularly to see what you can put together.

Good Housekeeping magazine frequently have bed linen offers for good quality at reduced prices. Being an oldie I subscribe to it, but am young enough to be too busy to read it. I've got a few unopened, I'll have a look and see if I can find anything good for you.

do you want covers, or duvets and pillows too?

nkf · 02/03/2012 20:37

Apparently linen bedlinen is the stuff to go for if you can stretch that far.

eBay for white company.

I have 300tc but the 600tc stuff we have for pillowcases is like silk.

Before you wash it fold it in half lengthways as you would before ironing it to make sure the seams are straight. Unless you dont iron, it doesnt matter so much then.

Thanks for the tips! :)

I don't iron so the washing tip is good.

What's the difference between Egyptian cotton and normal? Confused

High thread count.
Good stuff linen.co.uk here.
Debenhams and JL also good for high thread count sheets.
Some people on MN also rate qvc Northern Nights but I haven't tried this brand.
