Scrambled Eggs in pans

Is there a way to stop scrambled eggs sticking to pans? I was just wondering what would be the easiest way to clean the saucepan after this cooking method.

I do it in the microwave, in a plastic dish. Just as nice and no pan to wash.

Bio washing powder and hot water, simmer on the hob for 5 minutes, sparkling clean pan.

Urgh microwave scrambled eggs (sorry). I've never had microwave scrambled that is anything as good as the 'proper stuff' (but maybe yours is nice, RightUp).

Good scrambled eggs to be properly cooked in a pan imo. Top tip is to use a non-stick pan, keep it on a low heat and stir. As soon as the eggs are out of the pan fill it with hot water and a squirt of washing up liquid. Should come off fine then.

I use a silicone spatula to stir them - they scrape all the egg of the pan & leave hardly anything to clean off.

Non stick pan, silicone spatula, bit of butter dropped into the beaten eggs immediately after you put them into the pan.

The trick with microwave scrambled egg is to take it out to stir regularly and take them out of the microwave while still runny and the heat of the bowl keeps cooking them, it is very easy to overcook them though. If done properly it is just as nice as pan cooked, but a bit tricky.

To get it off the pan put some dishwasher powder in to soak the egg off.

Ooh, I find a wooden spatula gets more egg off the pan than a silicon one!

We have a wooden spoon with a pointy corner which stops anything sticking too badly

Soak the pan for 5 mins and then scrape it off with a nylon pan scraper from Pampered Chef or Lakeland. They are also fab at getting off lasagne crusty bits from dishes and burnt on stuff on any type of pan :)

I find it always sticks to the pan even if it doesn't stick, because as soon as you take the egg out there is a very thin layer left and the heat of the pan immediately cooks it and makes it stick. Non-stick makes no difference.

I use small non stick frying pan. Any egg stuck on after I've finished is easily wiped off. I like to wipe with a piece of kitchen roll before I wash so there aren't loads of dried eggy bits in the washing up water.

SilentBoob · 05/03/2012 04:15

are you talking about non-non-stick pans then? it just comes right off a non-stick.

BertieBotts · 05/03/2012 09:31

It doesn't come off my non-stick ones. It burns on, doesn't matter how slowly I cook it.

Might be cheap pan from asda that's the problem, though.
