Argh can't get vomit smell off leather sofa!

Poor DD had tummy bug and vomited on the leather sofa - of course I washed it off straight away with washing up liquid and water and then dettol wiped it later. The trouble is the smell is still there (if not getting worse after 2 days of cleaning it) and it's an aniline leather sofa, so I'm frightened as to what else to put on it!

Can anyone suggest something to clean it with or do I need to spend £25 on a specialist cleaning kit for it?

You could try saddle soap as you can do the whole sofa without fear of staining. I would be wary of trying anything as it could discolour it, is a cleaning company with in your budget ?

I've been warned off saddle soap as aniline is a natural leather and it would damage it Sad. I have asked a cleaning company and they are going to get back to me.

It's reeking out the living room Blush

On a really inconspicuous place try some shaving cream (traditional bog standard men's stuff not fancy gel to foam stuff) as that's normally great on sick smell BUT I dunno anyone who has used it on leather so I dunno if it would leave terrible mark.

Wow I hadn't heard that one. Might give it a try underneath if there are no other tested methods. Will definitely remember that for future though thanks.

Bicarb of soda neutralises smells brilliantly. It stopped my carpet from reeking of vomit when DS was ill. Make it into a paste with some water & spread it onto the affected area. I would definitely do a spot test in an inconspicuous area first though in case it marks the leather.

I have a paste of bicarb and water spread all over my sofa now! I tried vinegar which is meant to work....but the stink remained! Bicarb and vinegar worked on the carpet tho! Thanks!
