Ecover Virgin

Cooked a roast for tea tonight and had finished the last of my usual washing-up liquid (big brand beginning with F) this morning. Argh! Ecover on the side - bought in an attempt to help the environment - staring at a suspicious me. 'Surely it won't work.' But, lo and behold, it was amazing! Not many bubbles, which made me think it couldn't possibly shift the grot, but it was FAR better than my usual liquid - shifted the grease super fast and, as my husband put it, made the roasting tins look brand new. I am converted. (Promise I don't work for the company!)

Any other Ecover products I should try now?

Watching this with interest.

I use ecover washing up liquid. The F one makes my hands red & sore.

I would love to know what the washing liquids/powders are like.
Do they get rid of stains?

mousymouseafraidofdogs · 24/02/2012 21:02

the bio washing powder works really well.

I got the dishwasher tabs this week as they were on offer and was impressed. Had fairy ones before and sometimes they stuck in the tray and did not dissolve but the Ecover ones have not had this issue therefore things are cleaner.

I did the Ecover product test a few weeks ago and was really impressed with the non bio laundry liquid and the stain remover. It has a fab smell and got things really clean. I even bought some more once the bottle I got sent for the review was finished. Smile

Thanks crikey.. I didn't know they did a stain remover.

Will have a look tomorrow.

Beccatheboo · 24/02/2012 21:46

Yes, thanks crikey. Do they only do bio powder, not non-bio? Don't know why but I've always steered away from liquid and don't like the idea of bio powder (again, don't know why really!). Today has proved that you should give new things a try! I feel so guilty about all the washing powder going down the drain so if it's more environmentally friendly...

I use the non-bio and have done since DS was a baby with very sensitive skin. I have tried a few other brands over the years but they definitely make his skin flare up so I always go back to the Ecover. I think it does take the colour out of things a bit.

I tried the liquid but I really couldn't stand the smell for some reason.

I use the washing up liquid. The limescale remover is absolutely brilliant, although that too has a bit of an unpleasant smell.

I also did tge product test, you should take a look at the thread, and fell in love with the washing up liquid. And yes I know how that sounds. Like you i tried it first on a roasting run and wow.

They do loads of different things I also like the CID cream cleaner

Beccatheboo · 24/02/2012 22:09

Thanks everyone. Will definitely try the non-bio powder. My son also has sensitive skin (horrible excema on his wrists and arms). Big brand powder (beginning with P) really bleaches clothes so I'm used to it (navy school jumpers look awful after a handful of washes).

LBWSJ - the pleasure of small things, hey?! Perhaps I'm not the only person in the world without a dishwasher, then!
