Does anyone know how to remove candle wax splashes on a painted wall?
Thank you in advance

Oh I had this issue - over enthusiastic blowing out of candles by DH, so I've now got a snuffer Grin

Anyway, what worked for me was letting it harden, and then using an icecube or two in a plastic bag and applying them to the splash so it was frozen and then I used a small car ice scraper to sort of slide it off. I also put a tea towel round the back so that it would protect my hand from getting too cold.

It's a bit fiddly and takes time, but does work.

DON'T use a hairdryer. Just saying. Blush

When DH did this I put greaseproof paper over it then ironed it. Then scraped the wax off with a credit card. It did leave a slight grease mark but we just bought a tester pot to touch it up. However I have recently discovered Magic Eraser which might get the grease off, though I'd test in an hidden area first incase it lightens your paint.

Agree with getting wax as hard as possible and then using a very fine knife or razor blade to slide it off.

Pick it off!

once you've got it off, I think white spirit will dissolve the remaining greasy mark. Shoe polish is made of (mostly) paraffin wax and white spirit.

test in an unobtrusive place first in case it takes the finish off too.

I've got wax off painted walls by covering it with newspaper and ironing it.

I second the grease proof paper then iron it. It works for carpets tooSmile

I used the hairdryer to melt the wax and then kitchen roll to absorb it.
