stone floor in kitchen

We have a lovely stone floor in our kitchen-travertine I think. The sealant has gone in the traffic areas and it is difficult to keep clean. The holes were filled in a natural looking way, and are now really dirty.
What are top tips for a general cleaning solution/ mop? I currently use washing up liquid and a cloth, which isn't the best.
Also, how do I get it really clean ready for resealing (when I can face it)?

I have the same floor - travertine marble, I bloody hate it. Not good with 4 dogs!!

Any way every now and then well twice in the last 3.5 years, I get DP to get down on hands and knees with a stiff scrubbing brush and bio washing powder and hot water. It brings it up very well. Then mop over with clean water to get the suds off.

I have come to the decision that I am artfully 'distressing' my floor rather than letting it sink into dispair most of the time though Grin

For normal daily/weekly mopping I use a mop and bucket with hot soapy water and a splash of bleach, and then once a week or so, mop the floor with a small amount of washing powder in hot water.
