Basically stop cock off but leave tap nearest the frozen pipe on.

Hope you get some sleep.

We had a frozen pipe the other day. We were told to use a hairdrier on the frozen section whilst running the tap. It worked! It took abut 20 mins or so of waving the drier at the pipe (holding it an inch or so away on hot). Good luck!

What worked for me was hot water bottles, replacing when they cooled down. (tip from Good Housekeeping book of the Home - a wonderfully readable book!)
They also mentioned hair dryer or even hot cloths

All good suggestions for de icing frozen pipes..... one pipe to watch out for which is prone to freezing the the condenser pipe that these new boilers have, many are fitted "naked" with no insulation.....in frosty weather & cold spells...the pipe freezes and the boiler shuts down...
The pipe can be unfrozen using a kettle of water..... best tip is to wrap your pipe with insulation. I use the 15mm first then some 22mm over that and fix it in place with tie wraps (cable ties).....a Grandad's tip of the day...

Oh yes I forgot I used a hottie bottie too. And now my pipes are all wrapped up in foam insulation plus wrapped up in fibreglass strips. Hopefully this will work next time it gets so cold! (I'm in Canada and it was -20C the night my pipe froze)
