Child safe bannister rails for stairs

I am moving into a house (rental) where the stairs have only a top railing, no bannister rails. I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a product available which is like a stair gate with vertical rails, but designed to run from the top to the bottom of the stairs (straight run) so my toddler can't fall through. I have done some internet research but can't find anything. Please help! K

Does it have no spindles? So just an empty space below the hand rail? I think you would be best to speak to your LL about putting spindles in - whether you pay or him. You might be able to get something but I've never come across anything that could be used in place of spindles.
