vented or condenser tumble dryer?

we have the choice of either - vented or condenser - previous owners had a vented and there's a small hole in the wall for tube to go through. but my ma reckons condensers are more 'fire safe'....any thoughts on which is better?

Vented dryers are safe so long as you don't let fluff build up in them. Condenser dryers are less reliable because the condensers get caked up and less efficient. They also cost a lot more.

Vented every time. Condensers are very slow

Condensers take forever! Just like washer driers! They r rubbish if u have a family and need to do several loads! Also it's takes far more electricity! If you haven't got a hole in the wall chuck the hose out the backdoor or garage when it's on!

Our condenser is great and no steamy utility room etc.

I imagine like most things you get what you pay for, a good condenser will beat a cheapo vented drier and vice versa...

I've got a condenser as we couldn't have a vent and it's great. It was about £400 though 4 years ago but has been a godsend with my twins! Due to the rubbish weather it's still getting used daily at the mo!

We bought a 4 metre universal hose from Ebay, and just stick ours through the catflap when we go to bed. (We don't have a cat, I may add. No steamy-faced moggies getting an impromptu facial.)

I have a condenser and it is really good and quick even on a low heat setting.

I can also reuse the water for watering plants and stuff.
