How best to get squished babybel wax off a plastic bath?

DS (4.5) and I were experimenting to see if the wax from a babybel floats or sinks (it floats) but then it became slightly melted and smeared on the bottom of the bath. Any cleaning efforts I make just smear it more! What do I do please?!

Also does anyone know how they make the wax/where it comes from? DS asked if it came from an animal and I just wasn't sure. Thanks!

I havn't had this problem yet, but I would fill the bath with hot water and add a fair bit of biological washing powder. That will help melt the wax and the enzymes will 'eat' away at it. Rub it with a rough weave cloth or maybe a nylon scourer but you would have to go easy on that.

No idea how they make it. So I googled and the best I could find is this How to make cheese wax.

It tells you how to make it at home using crayons and unscented candle wax. So I imagine the process is similar Grin

Hi try nail varnish remover :)

A baby wipe got it off the ceiling in our house, and yes you can make it into a rather good ball, but if you throw it hard at the ceiling - it sticks! Grin

it's a paraffin wax, same as candles, so it should dissolve in white spririt. I don't think bio powder will eat it as it is not a protein.

If you make it cold (rub with an ice cube?) it will go hard so you can pick it off.

WUL might possibly help you get the smudges off.

you can tell DS it is made of unicorn's earwax if you like.
