How many towels/duvet sets do you have?

Just moved house and am trying to unpack and get rid of stuff as I go along - didn't have time to sort through everything before I moved. I have LOADS of towels of varying sizes and loads of sets of quilt covers/pillowcases for both myself and DD. I really need to get rid of a lot of stuff as storage here is a lot less than my last place (although owning my own place at last and having a garden at last makes up for that Grin). However most of my storage in my last place was taken up with crap and things that I never used and I'm discovering bedlinen and towels etc I'd totally forgotten I had.

However being a hoarder and a cluttered sort of person I'm now reluctant to get rid of them - but I WILL do it!! How many would be a sensible amount for just myself and DD but with the occasional overnight guest sleeping on a Z-bed? I'm terrible though - I've always been really reluctant to get rid of stuff - even bed covers not used for about 10 years - as I think "oh that's nice and if I get rid of it I'll not find one like it again" Blush

I think ideally 3 sets of bedding, one to wash, one on the bed and a spare in case of accidents.

I just have two, one on the bed and one washed and ironed.

Dont know about towels, we just have seperate for me and dh.

3 duvet sets and sheets each and 2 for guests and 2 towel bales each and 2 for guests sounds good to me.

2 duvet sets per bed.
Towels a dozen bath sheets- pet hate is small towels.
6 hand towels -only used for wrapping around my head after hair wash.
My MIL has bales stacked in the bathroom and certain towels only used to dress the room- even special themed Christmas towels.
Must admit though I do buy new bedding and towels every year so although not a lot it is all in good condition

I have two duvet sets for each bed. So six.
Towels. Each person has a set in a different colour with three different sizes. And some spare or for guests. The set each was established after DD had impetigo :/

3 sets of duvet covers/sheets for each bed.
one large sauna/beach towel each, 2 bathtowels each, about 15 hand towel and 15 kitchen towel, 15 flannels.

2 or 3 sets of bedding per bed.
5 bath sheets and 4 hand towels. I know this because the charity shop now has the rest of it (that didn't match the bathroom ;) )

We have loads - I love a full linen cupboard Grin

Maybe 4 changes per bed (at least Blush)

3 big bath sheets, 4 hand towels, 3 medium sized ones, 10 flannels and various towels for swimming.

My name is Valium and I have a bedding fetish Grin

If you can keep on top of laundry 2 each should do. For the guest one set should be sufficient (two towels if you normally house two guests).

Mollymoomoo · 17/01/2012 21:36

Bedding, three sets for us
two sets each dc
two old emergency duvet covers for sickness ( needed once with two sick babies!) these are also dust sheets /floor covers etc if needed.

Towels 4 bath sheets 2 med towels plus swim towels.
Four hand towels

Guests would have a spare bed set from ours.

Everything is then fresh, clean and organised. Let it all go, its cluttering your life.

10 years? Get rid! So what if you don't find one like it again, you obviously don't need it - or even want it.

We have 3 sets of bedding per bed. For quite a while we just had two, but then we started doing house swaps and for these it's much easier to have 3.

We have two many towels of the wrong kind (medium size) and not enough of the right kind (large size).

One per bed. It comes off, it gets washed and tumble dried and has to be back by bed time. Means no procrastination and no excess linen lying around. The kids have a set each plus one spare in case of accidents.

Four towels for our ensuite (one for him, two for me and hand towel). Kids have a towel each plus a hand towel. Five for guests that match the kids towels. Hand towel for downstairs loo plus a spare.

We don't have an airing cupboard and I loathe clutter. I don't understand why people have things they don't use regularly.
