Cam you/do you tumble dry your woollens? I am a bit confused!!

I have decided to buy a tumble dryer but I am a bit confused with what should be done with woollens.

I wear a lot of cardigans and dh a lot of jumpers, some of which say they can go in the tumble dryer (which is fine) but some say they cant. My MIL says she puts all woollens in her tumble dryer and they are fine - I am not brave to risk it!!
I have also noticed that some of the dryers have a woollen programme, so would this mean that even the woollens that say do not tumble dry we can with this programme or should I stick with what the label says? And there are also some programmes which 'fluff up the wool' wtf is that?

Any reccomendations also gratefully appreciated Smile

TBH I lie posh wool stuff out on the airer still. If its ordinary I do shove it in the machine and its fine but higher content wool does shrink if you're not really careful.

If I really had to I might try a few minutes on a cool cycle, but I would have to be desperate.

I don't dry any woollens in the tumble drier - too nervous of shrinking them!

I never dry woollens in the tumble dryer and I am big fan of the tumbling

Check the washing labels. Square with a circle in it is sign for tumble dryer. Crossed out means don't. One dot means low temp and two means high temp is ok.

In the past, I have had shrinkage with some woollens, so now I tend to hang them to dry and will tumble for literally a minute or two at the end, as I think it softens the wool again and feels nicer.

I never dry woollens in the drier. Although I use my tumbler lots I am quite fussy anout what goes in there.

Woollens should be dried flat and naturally. I learnt my lesson the hard way when one DHs sweaters became small enough for DDs build a bear!!
