with one breadmaker we had a tool to cope with this , but the panasonic doesn't have it- I find sticking the end of a chopstick in the hole and then pulling it out at an angle works

Can't you Just pull it out?

Or has it been sucked up into the loaf? Does this keep happening? If so is it still under guarantee?

Just shake the break really hard and it will work its way out or cut a slit to release it through. Happened the first few times. Next time give it a sharp tap in the mould before turning it out.

This happens to practically every loaf we make. Just pull it out - the end of a teaspoon usually does the trick Smile

I solved this by permanently jamming the blade onto the shaft with a piece of paper clip wedged down between the shaft and side of the hole in the blade.

You phoned Panasonic and didn't simply cut the loaf to get it out?

bebemad · 03/01/2012 18:17

thanks! we do get it out, but we have never had any trouble with this in the past with our old machine and this one was fine the first 5/6 times now it is getting stuck every time and we are not doing anything different, just a bit fed up of having a big old hole in the bread :(

My panny goes through phases of this too.

Gigondas · 03/01/2012 18:53

Isn't there something in the trouble shooting guide on this? Sometimes ,not always, it gets stuck if you try to get it out too early. Also I find sticky hook issue worse with certain recipes (ESP pre mix).

Do your instructions mention oiling and then part baking the pan? My Morphy Richards mentioned this: rub inside the pan and the blade with oil then there was a setting whereby you could put it in, empty, to cook for 10 minutes. This made it non stick like a wok and could be repeated in the future if the bread stuck to the pan OR to the blade.
