Bump as I'm interested too.

Mine's a light'n easy one from lakeland (well costco for £30 but they had it in lakeland for £60).

They are very good but mine only takes de-ionised water which is a pita. I get mine from asda for £1.50 for 2.5ltrs.

Absolutely brilliant Grin!

StitchingMoss · 03/01/2012 19:18

That was far too much enthusiasm for a mop Blush - but would recommend definitely Smile.

I had a steam mop about 20 years ago. I'm not using it now so I guess it didn't change my world. I am a gadget fan though :D

Think the Lakeland own brand takes tap water. Just found a £5 off voucher, DH has agreed......

I love my steam mop and it is very easy to use. I have a dislocated shoulder which is quite weak so the repetative movement of a normal mop really hurts, so the steam mop is excellent.

Saying that, I still don't use it as much as I should Blush

MidnightHag · 04/01/2012 08:17

OP: please report back on how you get on with it. I've been considering a steam mop for ages.

Flisspaps · 04/01/2012 08:31

I have a Bionaire one. I don't use it as often as I should, but definitely use it far more frequently than I did my traditional mop. No bucket to lug round, no tipping filthy water out anywhere, no hanging the sodding thing up to dry...

Fluffycloudland77 Can you not just use filtered water in yours rather than paying for de-ionised water? Effectively it's just water that has been purified anyway. Mine came with it's own tiny filtered jug, but I get a feeling the filter in that is no different to the one in my big fridge jug.

It's arrived!

My wonderful cleaning lady had just a few hours earlier washed the floor so it was was already looking good, but on using the brand new mop soooooo much more dirt came off the floor (judging by the lack on the pad)

It's fantastic, it gets rid of the marks the dogs leave in seconds, brilliant as one is in season.

It's got an easy fill tap water container, heats up in less than a minute and the pads are a doddle to change. Handle is adjustable, floor left dry

Not yet washed a pad in the machine but I think I'm sold :)

Thanks for reporting back.
Right, Lakeland it is. Smile

miserablemum · 07/01/2012 17:20

Does it do any floors? We're having Karndean in the kitchen and it's a bit bumpy so i's slight concerned of dirt getting trapped that i normal mop might not get out IYKWIM

Angelswings · 08/01/2012 19:28

Not sure about different floor types, but as the steam dries straight away I'd think it would be better tan a mop tat would leave pools of water
Thanks for the flowers :)
