How would I go about getting the air quality in my home measured

Hi - weird problem I know but it's really on my mind... and not sure where to post this.

We moved into a converted barn 2 years ago and since then I have had cough after cough after cough. In fact, when others get proper colds, mine always manifests itself as a nasty tickly cough and sore throat. I have had 8 in 2 years, whereas previously I could count the amount of coughs I've had in a decade on one hand. I've also had sore throats where I could literally barely swallow, and I've had proper laryngitus 4 times. All within 2 years.

My gut instinct tells me we are breathing in something unpleasant which is bringing on these symptoms. My daughter has yet another cough and I just want to lay the doubts about my house to rest. I'm scared we are breathing in asbestos or some other nasty (it was converted 25 yrs ago so not sure about asbestos regs then). Is there such a thing as an air inspector?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Home air quality testing
Have you got any visible signs or damp or mould as that can be a common problem in buildings.

Asbestos to my limited knowledge often has other symptoms e.g fatigue, skin irratation

If you google domestic air quality testing loads of companies come up, but you could also contact your local councils environmental health dept. for advice Xmas Smile
