heated airer/dryer

I know it is dull, but has anyone used one of these www.lakeland.co.uk/21736/Dry-Soon-Heated-Tower-Airer or similar
and are they any good? Do they fold up when not being used?

Don't really have a slot for a tumble dryer, and a lot of things can't be tumbled anyway (if you believe the washing labels) and I am running out of radiators!

yes I've got one and it really does work. The best way to dry a full load overnight is to put a duvet cover over it all. Also doing smaller loads and spreading things out flat on it too dries things very quickly - so particularly great for things like towells.

My tumble dryer seems to take ages so I think this is more efficient, though I worked out how much 5p per hour (they reckon) would add to my quarterly bill if I put it on 4 nights a week and it was £25 which is a bit scarey. But also saves me putting the heating on just to dry things on radiators too, which I am guilty of.

You can fold up one side and it still stands up. And you can fold up both sides so it is flat, but still just as long (so depends how big your cupboard you will put it in is!).

Thanks, howlong, so did you get yours from Lakeland, then? Or is there somewhere else to get it (maybe cheaper??) Argos doesn't seem to have them.

I will be storing it in the garage, so it doesn't have to fold up that small. Have decided that drying things on radiators is probably bad for them (the radiators) and might be blocking the heat from them.

I've got the Lakeland one. I did use it alot at first, and it did add about £25 to the bill! But, it is good, just don't leave it on overnight (and all day the next day...) because it does add up. It works better in a warm room, and definitely throwing a duvet cover over everything is a good tip. I found it really useful in that inbetween time when the heating wasn't on, but I was too lazy it was too cold to put stuff outside.
