That's it really. When you wake with a headache, the baby and toddler and both demanding of attention, you're sleep deprived and have been for a month BUT feel so depressed about the slum-like state of your house? How do you haul yourself off the sofa when you finally get time to yourself?

Nothing worked today. My house is still slum-like. Sigh.

I did something today. I sorted through four massive piles of papers.

Tomorrow I may do nothing; but I have told myself that the day after I will do another something. It's the only way.

What works for me is to not sit down. If my DD has gone down for a nap, I think of a few things i can do that will make me feel good i.e. putting dishes in the dishwasher and the washing up (i love a clean kitchen), do those things then i just add on a few more little things to do and i keep saying to myself "Once this and this is done i will sit down for a cup of tea". It seems to work. Staying on my feet is the key for me. Once i sit down it's all over Xmas Grin

I find writing a list helps me. Ticking things off makes me feel like I've accomplished something.

I also make lists. I always put a couple of easy-wins on it, eg phone calls that I can do while I have a cup of tea. Some items almost always roll over til the next day/week (I've been meaning to clean the groundsheets from the tent since the summer) but it is always helpful to have prioritised things, so I don't feel like I'm drowning.

I agree - once I sit down it's all over. Unfortunately DS's naptime starts with me sitting down to eat lunch. Hmm
