Im about to get a new washing machine and at the moment I have one thats 1600rpm. However looking at new ones, there is a massive price difference between the rpm so I wondered whether there is a huge siginifcant difference in the performance? Will I notice the difference? TIA!!

Go for the highest spin possible. Makes drying clothes so much quicker. And you can always reduce the spin speed for delicates.

im looking at buying a new washing machine as well, i normalyy go for a 1400 but 1600 does dound good. I try to go for a larger drum 7-8kg.

Am not happy at having to buy one with xmas fast approaching.
Has anyone bought one recently that they would reccomend. I really want one with the option to have a quick 30 mins wash on it.

White goods help has a brilliant page, arguing that there's no sensible reason to get above 1400 rpm.

Sorry, I said that all wrong. WGH is saying that the price difference between 1200 & 1400 usually isn't worth paying for (and by extension anything above 1200, really), but see what you think of their article.

Kent - my John Lewis machine ticks all your boxes incl a 14 minute wash. Check the website for hte latest models - but not cheap...
