Silver serving spoon damaged in dishwasher help???

Hello

first mn post, so I hope you can all help me! We've recently got a dishwasher and I remembered too late the advice about not putting silver things next to normal cutlery in there. Cue lovely silver spoon server present now looks very shoddy and unshiney and marked.

Is this solve-able?

Thanks v much in advance!!

start by using a normal silver polish such as Goddards Silver Foam (the pink soapy stuff) and polishing off with a soft cotton cloth. If that doesn't do it, you can use Goddards Long Term Silver Polish. The Silver treatments are composed to chemically remove silver tarnish, and are less abrasive then most metal polishes which work by grinding off the surface.

If it is silver plate then there is a chance that it might have gone through to the base metal.

You can get things re-plated, just google silver plating and lots if companies come up.
