How do you store hangers?

Just cleared out a load of old clothes and now have lots of spare hangers (which I don't want to chuck out because hangers are always breaking and need replacing). I have tried storing them in bags, but they all get caught up with each other and then I end up having a huge fight with them to get one out. I have also tried hanging them in the wardrobe but there isn't really enough room for them and I think they look a bit untidy.

Anyone have a good solution? Thanks

buy more clothes to put on them, then replace back in wardrobe Grin

Children's hangers are in a large carrier bag. Occasionally friends ask for them (for NCT sales etc to hang their clothes up for sale) so I keep hold of them.

Adults' hangers - we are fortunate enough to have a spare wardrobe. It is only half full (children's school summer dresses, rarely used best dresses etc) so we have space in there.

I agree that they look untidy in the wardrobe.

Lakeland used to sell a hanger for them but it was shit like playing Buckaroo. So they live in washing basket until it's full then ironing pile, but if all the clothes are clean and hanging there's only a couple spare, so it's a living system thing.

Thanks for the replies. I might try the washing basket. Could be a gap in the market for the perfect hanger storage solution!

I stack them together semi neatly and put a rubber band/tie some string around the ends.

BIG Plastic box just inside utility room door (on the floor) so people just throw hangers in as they bring dirty washing down to washing machine. That's the theory anyway. Works well for us.

Loose in the drawer of a drawer divan.

You can get a hanger storage bag. I'm off to look for one and will post a link if I find one. Mum has one and keeps it in her laundtry room for when ironing shirts. Back in a mo....

www.woolworths.co.uk/ideal-coat-hanger-storage-2-pack/660426383.prd like this. They're out of stock but should be elsewhere on the internet! When I used to work in a clothes shop we rubber banded them together in groups of 10 and chucked them in a cardboard box :)

Thanks for sharing your storage solutions and the link. Like the idea of grouping them and rubber banding them. Thanks

Grin Send them to me! I have too many clothes and not enough hangers to put them on.
