I want a really nice, functional sink tidy

New kitchen, can't bear to clutter the lovely new top with plastic tat that doesn't even catch drips.

Haven't found one online yet though -the ones that are big enough are plasticky and the nice-looking ones are too small (need space for 2 brushes as one for dog bowls, other smaller brushes, as well as dishcloth, fairy etc)

Anyone got or seen a good one please?

Like you, have been searching internet for decent sink tidy. Did use a child's metal bucket as I couldn't find anything so have improvised. Bought bathroom caddy (No. 0242911) from Wilko for £2.50. Then got both a tin and "spam" tin, cleaned them up, one to hold brushes and "spam" tin for sponges - can replace these when rusty/messy. Caddy is big enough to also house w/up liquid and worktop spray. I hang dishcloth in front and another colour cloth at back for spray. Sorted - and it's quite a talking point. Hope this helps.

I use a really nice square tin that once held biscuits, (like a panettone tin but smaller) it isn't designed for the purpose and has rusted on the base but looks lovely (in my opinion!).
Aldi had a cream housekeeping tin this week that looked nice but was too big. Previous to the biscuit tin I used a stainless steel trough that I sometimes use for 3 pots of herbs.
I'm with you on this dilemma as you can tell!

If you have a Dunelm Mill near you, they have loads of different kitchen stuff to browse around.

I used to think it was just another cheapy shop but I was pleasantly surprised by what was in our large local store.

I have a small ceramic tray (inherited from my great-aunt). I think it's meant for carrying two cups of tea and a sugar bowl - that kind of size (maybe 12" x 5"?) That holds the w-up liquid bottle, some handwash, some hand cream and the green scratcher and then within that I have a ceramic pot that holds the brushes. It's lasted longer that my previous plastic things because plastic scratches and scruff. Before I was given the tray thing I used a similar sized slab of crackle-glazed ceramic that was meant for putting candles on. I'm a a bit of a ceramics fan... But if you're not, that dinky two-cups-of-tea sized tray might be a possibility in acrylic or something.

I've got on of these, I like there's somewhere to hang a cloth

sink tidy

I got this one from Dunelm Mill. Ok it's a lump of plastic, but it does the job. The handle can be used to hang cloths on too.

I am liking all these creative made up ones though, will have to ponder.

Beehatch I have that one from Dunelm. It's really good and I also like the way it drains into the bottom bit and wet doesn't go over the work surface. Though I do have to remember to empty it

Here is what I use! www.tidysink.com

It will hold a brush or a dish wand! And allows the brush to dry out quickly!
