Mouldy bath toys

I hang my DD's bath toys and ducks up to dry in one of those mesh net hanging pouches but whatever I do, they still get mouldy. Do I need to keep replacing them or is there some way of safely cleaning them (she puts them in her mouth)?

I have the same problem so will watch with interest.

Personally I would just throw them out.

I have heard you can soak them in Milton and if you squeeze the Milton inside and then get it out again it is ok.

I would only have a few like that on the go at once and chuck them regularly.

A more environmentally friendly option would just be to give her empty bottles (washed) from the recycling to play with.

I haven't found a good way of getting the inside completely clean, if she puts them in her mouth, cut your loses...dump and get some new ones

We have a set of stacking cups with holes that DC use in the bath. Works really well and dry out with no probs.

We had some animals before but ditched them due to the mould thing.

Anything which gets water inside will go mouldy after a while. You can swill them out with a weak bleach solution but it won't kill it completely. Better to just chuck and replace. Good stocking fillers!

You need to squeeze all the water out of the ducks/toys after each bath to get all the soapy water out. I rinse ours in cold water, squeeze out and then leave to dry.
If you find black bits when you squeeze then they are already full of bacteria so need throwing. The black stuff can give them tummy ache/sicness and diarrhea
You can leave them in a sink full of Milton every few weeks to keep them squeaky clean.
Or just buy the really cheap bath toys and replace every month

Chuck 'em. Stick to plastic cups and things like that which can dry easily.

Binned all mine as well and bought some new ones.

We don't have any squeeze toys any more.

I used to dishwash them.
