Help - Smelly Football Boots

DressDownFriday · 05/11/2011 17:17

DD's football boots absolutely stink.

Have tried washing machine - still smell
Spraying with fabreze - still smell
Airing in the garden for days - still smell

They smell the car out when she has them on her feet travelling to football. The smell seems to be ingrained.

Any ideas?

Fill with Bicarb of soda or neutradol powder to soak up the odours and leave for a few days - empty and then wash and/or air again. In the tower block residences at uni the footballers and rugby guys always left their boots on the windowsills or tied up lossely outside on balconies in plastic bags to air them

Also what about trying new odour eater style insoles inside them

Replace the insole too.

Apparently, a piece of charcoal inside the boot removes the smell but I haven't tried it...I'll be buying sone neutradol powder to try though.
