Article here
It makes interesting reading. I'm feeling quite smug as I do everything it advises in the report (am practically OCD with washing Blush)!

Ponders, no, Nappisan destroys the elastic / waterproofing in modern cloth nappies. All ours recommend not to soak them (even in just water) before washing. In fact, most nappy manufacturers recommend not using bleach and washing at 40 degrees most of the time. Confused

yy to what Teetik says about us all having some of those bacteria on us. The infection my DS has on his face is with a bug that we all carry small amounts of, but he often gets a heavy growth of it. When it gets into the eczema on his face it makes his whole face crack and weep pus. :( DH was tested for it and also had a heavy growth of staph. in his nose, but with no ill effects at all for him.

The dermatologist was concerned because it keeps getting re-infected again so if I wash everything at 60 that'll at least rule out one source of re-infection.

That's interesting about the eczema link, Ponders. All our info from the dermatologist says to use non-bio. I thought that was because a small proportion of people are allergic to the enzymes in bio, though.

I've been using napisan on fuzzibunz nappies for years - they are now on their 4th child and the waterproofing is fine, I've had to replace some elastic on the 4th time round but I just put that down to wear and tear. Don't soak them in it mind.

Well having read that i feel amazed that I am alive tbh. My mum washes at a maximum of 40 degrees and I generally wash at that temperature. And don't separate things much.
